Darren began his financial services career in 1997. He is dedicated to assisting individuals, families and businesses achieve their financial goals and objectives, by providing comprehensive and highly personalized retirement, estate and business strategies. His philosophy is based on cultivating healthy client relationships and educating clients on the benefits of planning to meet their unique needs.

Previous to joining Tax & Financial Group, Darren was a financial representative at Principal Financial Group and Merrill Lynch.
 
Prior to Merrill Lynch, Darren was a professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association (N.B.A.) and Europe. He played 5 years in the NBA with the Washington Bullets, Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics. Afterward, he played 8 years in Europe (Italy, France, and Israel). He helped Scavolini Pesaro win 2 Italian league championships and Pau-Orthez win 1 French league championship.
 
Darren is involved with Project Access, which assists low-income families in affordable housing to achieve self-sufficiency through access to onsite services in education, health and social services.
 
In 1983, Darren earned a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). While at UCLA, he played in the national championship game in March of 1980 versus Louisville University.
 
Darren has his series 7, 66 registrations and insurance licenses, and is a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative with Securian Financial Services.
 
Darren has two children. His daughter Alyssa attends Arizona State University and his son Austin is currently playing professional basketball for the Detroit Pistons. Darren resides in Irvine, California with his wife Olivia.
